Kevin Dunn Could Have Some Current Job Security Within WWE

Kevin Dunn may be more important than most think.

Ever since Vince McMahon stepped away from WWE questions started arising about when “Vince’s guys” would also be fired and leave the company. We learned yesterday that John Laurinaitis had been quietly let go by WWE in the last week. That news led to many asking online how long it would be until Kevin Dunn was also let go. Yet that may not be anytime soon.

According to a report today by Fightful, it looks as if right now there are no plans to get rid of Kevin Dunn as the feeling is there is no one else in the company that could replace him. Triple H recently named Dunn as part of his team going forward and this further confirms that Dunn may not be going anywhere anytime soon as the report stated,

While talent expected Kevin Dunn to be let go with the McMahon-Laurinaitis regime change, Triple H has said that Dunn figured into a big part of WWE’s future. About a half dozen WWE talent we’ve spoken to pointed out the production style as something they’re hoping would change in the near future. Specifically, one top talent and one former talent said that the reasoning they’re given for some of WWE’s production aspects undermine their in-ring work. We’ve also been told that WWE doesn’t believe they have anyone currently that could replace Dunn, as the likeliest candidate was let go during a prior round of layoffs, and a return isn’t likely based on how the exit went down.

It was not said who the recently released person who could have taken Dunn’s spot was but it is interesting that they feel no one else in the company is qualified enough to fill that spot if Dunn was to be let go.
