John Cena Says It Is Not Possible For Him To Work WrestleMania

Filming of Cena’s new show could keep him out of Mania.

In 2021 the new Suicide Squad movie will be coming out with John Cena playing the Peacemaker character. With that Cena is also getting his own HBOMax series playing the Peacemaker character. The show is filming right now in Vancouver, Canada. With COVID and having to quarantine to leave and enter Canada that makes it not possible for Cena to work WrestleMania let alone multiple RAWs or Smackdown leading up to build his match.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated, Cena stated that the show is filming from now until July in Vancouver, Canada and if he were to leave Canada he would have to quarantine for two weeks before doing anything back in the states and then when he goes back, he will have to quarantine for another two weeks before he can resume filming his show. With all of those restrictions, that will basically make it not logistical for him to do it.

“Currently, I’m in Vancouver, shooting Peacemaker, the series for HBO Max. Given the quarantine regulations, if I were to leave Canada, upon return I would have to quarantine for another two weeks. Essentially, that would shut production down. Strictly based on the letter of the law right now, there is no logistical way I can be there. We film now until July.”

If Cena is to miss WrestleMania this year, it will be the first WrestleMania since WrestleMania 20 in 2004 that will not feature John Cena in a match or segment on the show.
