Jimmy Smith To Join RAW Announce Team

WWE has the replacement for Adnan Virk.

Tuesday it was announced that WWE has parted ways with Adnan Virk who was working as the lead commentator on Monday Night RAW since the night after WrestleMania. WWE stated the two sides mutually parted ways and we already know about his replacement.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Meltzer reported that former UFC and Bellator commentator Jimmy Smith will become the new lead commentator for Monday Night RAW. Smith is slated to start working with Corey Graves and Byron Saxton next Monday, May 31st. The interesting thing is that Smith will be doing play-by-play on RAW and his former work in MMA he was only an analyst. So with that, he will be in a different role than he has in the past.

Smith has worked with WWE with NXT recently and was part of the pre-show panel for NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver. Again that was as an analyst. Last week he also appeared on NXT talking about the karrion Kross/Finn Balor match that took place last night.
