Interim World Title Match Announced For Supercard Of Honor

An interim title match is set for Friday night.

This Friday night is Ring Of Honor Supercard Of Honor and it is the first ROH show under Tony Khan. So far five matches had been announced for the show and today a sixth one, the fourth title match, has been announced for the show.

Tony Khan announced Monday afternoon that there will be an Interim Women’s World Title match at Supercard of Honor. The match will see Willow Nightingale face Mercedez Martinez to become the interim ROH Women’s World Champion.

As far as this being an interim title match, Deonna Purrazzo is the current ROH Women’s World Champion. At this time it is not known why she is not defending the title on the show and why they have to do an interim title match. Purrazzo is working the IMPACT Multiverse of Matches event on the same night defending either the ROH Women’s World Title or her AAA Reina de Reinas title. One would think she can not work the ROH show because she is working the IMPACT show at the same time, yet The Briscoes are set to work both shows themselves. The Tweet from Khan does state that the winner will face Purrazzo at a later date though.

With this match being announced that are now six matches set for the show.

Jonathan Gresham(c) vs Bandido(c)

ROH World Tag Team Championships
