Highly Unexpected Team Added To the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic
January 21, 2021One team is out and two rivals are in.
Last night on NXT we saw Ashante “Thee” Adonis taken out by Karrion Kross after their quick match. Then later in the night, WWE posted a video on Twitter where the trainer told Tommaso Ciampa that Adonis had to be pulled from the Dusty Classic leading to speculation.
Then another video was posted where Ciampa went up to Timothy Thatcher and basically asked why Thatcher did not break his leg. As Thatcher was walking away Ciampa would yell, “Hey I hear there’s an opening in the Duty Cup.” This would then lead to NXT General Manager William Regal making a big announcement today. Regal announced that with an open spot in the tournament but now that spot has been filled by the team of Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher.

If you did not see it, last night in the main event of NXT we saw Ciampa and Thatcher fight inside the NXT Fight Pit with Thatcher picking up the victory. Now the two will team together and face off against Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari.
