FOX Reportedly Pushing WWE To Bring Back Fans
May 20, 2021FOX wants fans back on Friday nights.
Since March 2020 WWE has not really run many shows with fans in attendance. Outside of fans at WrestleMania, WWE did try to bring fans in for RAW and Smackdown at the Performance Center as well as using NXT talent as the crowd as well. Plus, NXT has had a limited number of fans inside the WWE Performance Center each week.
As previously reported, WWE has an internal plan to start touring on the road during the weekend of July 16 through 19. We reported that the pay-per-view that weekend would be Money in the Bank and WWE quietly confirmed that in a new WWE Network on Peacock commercial. Yet it looks like FOX has been pushing WWE recently to get fans back as soon as possible.
According to WrestleVotes on Twitter, they report that FOX has privately pushed for the returns of live crowds over the past few weeks. They said that want WWE on the level of MLB, NBA, and other sports that have brought fans back.
Heard from a very reliable source that FOX has privately pushed for a return to live crowds over the past few weeks, actively seeking updates on timeframes, etc. Theyβd like their billion dollar investment on the same playing field as the MLB, NBA & others.

From what we have heard, mid to late July is still the plan for WWE to get back on the road with fans. If we do hear any changes to that, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
