FOX Reportedly Cutting Back Weekly Production Of WWE Backstage
June 22, 2020After a 32 week run, it looks like WWE backstage is no more.
WWE started a relationship with FOX last October when Smackdown moved to FOX on Friday nights. On November 5ththey expanded that partnership officially launching WWE Backstage on FS1 hosted by Renee Young and Booker T out of the FOX Sports studios in Los Angeles. Now it looks like that show may have been nixed by the network.
According to a report from John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, Ourand reports that the weekly production of WWE Backstage will no longer be taking place.
FS1 is scaling back production on its boxing and WWE shoulder programming. "WWE Backstage will not longer be produced weekly. It is eliminating "Inside PBC." Double digit job losses as a result. SBJ Media will have the full story tonight.

In an update to this, PWInsider confirms that the show will no longer be taking place and may occasionally be brought back on special occasions. Ourand’s tweet made it seem like that show would remain but not weekly, but again PWInsider confirms that show has basically been canceled.
Along with hosting WWE Backstage, Renee Young had still been working Smackdown live tapings as well so WWE still has a place for her every week to work. As far as Booker T goes he is normally used on the pay-per-view pre-show panels.
