Former WWE Name Reveals They Are Under A 2-Year Non-Compete
October 21, 2025WWE has a former member of the broadcast team held up for years.
In pro wrestling, contracts are always in favor of the company rather than the performers themselves. They are not allowed to just leave in the middle of a contract, but the company can fire/release them at any time. Yet sometimes WWE will grant a release from a contract, but there are usually conditions with those releases.
Last year, we saw Samantha Irvin ask for and receive her release from WWE before her contract was over. Since then, we have seen her dive deep into her music and not do anything in wrestling. Now we know that it is because she is currently not allowed to per a two-year non-compete she agreed to.
On Tuesday, a fan on X posted how it has been a year since Irvin left WWE. Irvin would respond to that tweet, revealing that she is currently one year into a two-year non-compete.
One year down, one year left on my non-compete! Can’t wait I hope you enjoy my songs in the meantime and look back on all the memories as fondly as I do! Love & miss you all and remember- I NEVER left FOR music, I am music. Hope to see you soon…..

This is not out of the norm for WWE, though. When Renee Paquette left WWE, she did so with a one-year non-compete that did not allow her to do anything in wrestling for one year. As soon as that was up, she joined All Elite Wrestling.
