Former TNA Champion To Make AEW Debut In Continental Classic

AEW could debut a signing in a fun way.

Coming up next week is the AEW Continental Classic which is basically AEW’s version of a G1 Classic tournament. Last year was the inaugural tournament and they had 12 wrestlers in the tournament. It is now being reported that they could use one spot in the tournament to debut a former TNA champion with the company.

According to Mike Johnson on a recent PWInsider Elite show, he reported that “Speedball” Mike Bailey is slated to go to AEW after his TNA contract expired at the start of the year. Johnson would go on to say that the belief in AEW is he will debut in the 2025 Continental Classic.

β€œSpeedball Mike Bailey is gone (from TNA). The belief in AEW circles is he will debut as part of the Continental Classic.”

Bailey left TNA Wrestling earlier this month and was considered one of their more popular wrestlers. He is a former three-time X-Division Champion and in both 2022 and 2023 had the match of the year in the company. Many have said Bailey’s in-ring style would fit in well with the AEW roster and he is someone who could thrive in a tournament like the Continental Classic.

If we do hear anything further on Mike Bailey possibly going to AEW, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
