Former NFL Player Signs Deal With WWE

WWE signs another former football player.

Over the years there have been a number of former pro football players who transitioned into pro wrestling. Some of the bigger names to make the transition are Bill Goldberg, Brian Pillman, John Bradshaw Layfield, Jim Neidhart, Baron Corbin, Moose, and others. Now it looks as if WWE has signed another former NFL player.

According to Bobby Shouse, he posted on social media that former Miami Dolphins’ Saftey Trill Williams has signed a deal with WWE. This comes after he participated in a WWE tryout earlier this year over SummerSlam weekend. Williams was actually see in the background of a locker room segment this week on NXT.

Trill Williams, who played college football at Syracuse University from 2018 to 2020, made headlines with his impressive performance, which included four interceptions. Despite not being drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints. However, after being waived for failing his physical, he found a new opportunity with the Miami Dolphins. Williams played five games during the 2021 season, contributing on both defense and special teams. Yet his football career came to an in when he suffered a torn ACL in August of 2022. This led to Williams being waived by the Dolphins.
