August 25, 2020 1 By Tim JarrellA big name is coming back to WWE.
Over the last few months, we have seen many different people doing NXT commentary from Beth Phoenix, Mauro Ranallo, Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, Vic Joseph, and Corey Graves. Now, this Wednesday and a new but familiar name is going to be doing commentary for the black and gold brand.
According to a report by Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Satin reports that former Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett will be lending his voice to the NXT commentary team this week. Barrett, real name Stu Bennett was released by WWE back in 2016 after he told the company he would not sign a new contract when his current was coming due.
Since then Bennett has been focusing on acting and commentary. He has done commentary for Netflix’s Beastmaster competition show and most recently doing commentary for the National Wrestling Alliance.
At this time it is the report states it is a one-time thing and he has not signed a new full-time deal to re-join the company.
