Former AEW Champion To Make WWE Debut Next Week On Smackdown
March 28, 2025A highly anticipated debut takes place in Chicago.
For the past three or four weeks, vignettes have been airing on Smackdown, teasing a mystery masked luchador coming to WWE. It was no secret that the wrestler in the teases is former AEW International Champion Rey Fenix, but now WWE has officially confirmed it.
WWE ran a new video during tonight’s Smackdown that revealed that the mystery luchador is not only Rey Fenix but that he will be making his official WWE debut next week on Smackdown from Chicago.

Most have asked why he is not going to RAW to be with his brother Penta, and it seems to be because WWE was not expecting to get Fenix this soon, and they already have plans for Penta going into WrestleMania. Rumors are that Penta will be involved in a four-way in Las Vegas with the Intercontinental Championship on the line. So it would seem WWE does not want to have to stray away from their Penta plans at this time.
If we do hear anything further of Fenix debuting next week on Smackdown, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
