First Match Announced For NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver

The NXT Title match is set.

Coming up on April 7th and 8th will be NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver. Stand & Deliver will come to us on the USA Network Wednesday, April 7th, and on Peacock on Thursday, April 8th. With that, the first match for TakeOver has been set.

Going into tonight’s NXT on the USA Network it was announced that Finn Balor will in fact defend the NXT Championship against Karrion Kross. The show last week ended with the two in the ring and Balor saying “What took you so long.” Now the two will battle over the NXT Championship to see who the real NXT Champion is.

Finn Bálor has been virtually untouchable since his return to NXT, but he’s about to face his toughest test yet as NXT Champion.

The Prince will put his title on the line against the undefeated Karrion Kross, accompanied by Scarlett, at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.

Bálor has stood tall in the face of all challengers during his six-month reign atop the black-and-gold brand, defeating the likes of Adam Cole, Pete Dunne and Kyle O’Reilly.

However, The Prince’s opportunity to become champion emerged after Kross was forced to vacate the title in August due to injury. The doomsday deviant has been on an absolute rampage since returning, dismantling Damian Priest, Santos Escobar and more.

The two finally came face to face following Bálor’s title defense against Cole, with Kross locking eyes on The Prince and the championship he never lost.

Bálor is perhaps better than he’s ever been, while Kross may be the most unstoppable force in NXT history. When they finally meet at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, something has to give!

If you don’t remember, back at NXT TakeOver XXX Karrion Kross defeated Keith Lee to become the NXT Champion but suffered a shoulder injury in that match. Kross was forced to vacate the title. Since signing joining NXT last year Kross has remained undefeated except for in the tag team match tonight on NXT where he teamed with Balor against the NXT Tag Team Champions. Balor would take the pin in that match.
