Finals Set For AEW Eliminator Tournament At Full Gear

October 29, 2020 1 By Tim Jarrell

The next challenger for the AEW World Title will be crowned in less than two weeks.

Last week on Dynamite AEW started the World Title Eliminator Tournament with the winner of this eight-man tournament ultimately earning a shot at the AEW World Championship. last week the field of eight was cut down to four and tonight the final four were cut down to the final two.

First off, a second-round match between Hangman Page and Wardlow kick off this week’s AEW Dynamite. The match was a great opening contest as both worked hard to impress and look good. Page came out of the gate fast and strong against the bigger opponent. One of the highlights of the match was Hangmang giving Wardlow and overhead suplex off the top rope that all but threw Wardlow into the corner on the opposite side of the ring. In the end, it was Hangman Page who won and advanced to the finals.

The main event of tonight’s show saw the other second-round match between Kenny Omega and Penta El Zero M. Omega was supposed to take on Rey Fenix, but Fenix was injured in his first-round match last week and was forced to forfeit the match to his brother. This match was everything we expected from an Omega vs Penta match. This was not the first time we have seen these two work and it did not disappoint. The two fought in the ring, over the barricade and Omega even took a Canadian Destroyer on the ramp. In the end, it was Kenny Omega who was able to pick up the win to advance to the finals.
