Vince really did want The Revival to be a comedy act in their final months.

The former Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder tried to get out of WWE for over a year and finally got that release on April 10, 2020. It had been reported that Vince McMahon had a plan for the tag team champions and that was to make them a complete comedy act. Now we know exactly what that entailed.

According to Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, Haynes reports that the plan was in fact to make them comedy guys making them wear bow ties, doo rags, two-tone colors, and even lip stick. renders were made and what they wanted their new ring gear to look like and it was reported that Vince McMahon himself directly handed said renders to Dawson and Wilder.

We know that their last televised match was on the January 31st edition of Smackdown. their last official match in the company was at a Match 1st live event. They two were then sent home and were not being paid as it was reported that they had already hit the cap of their downside guarantees.

The two are now free of WWE, Scott Dawson is now Dax Harwood and Dash Wilder is now Cash Wheeler. It is unclear where the duo goes next, but all signs point to possibly signing with AEW.
