Fenix Forfeits Second Round Tournament Match Due To Injury
October 23, 2020Fenix is not cleared to compete right now.
This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite we saw a spot kind of go wrong with Pentagon and Fenix. The two were fighting on the middle rope when Fenix went for a twisting head scissors. When the two landed on the mat Fenix landed on his head, neck, and left shoulder. Fenix was checked on multiple times throughout the remainder of the match and was said to be “sore” backstage after.
Yesterday it was then reported that Fenix may not be medically cleared to compete in the second round of the Eliminator Tournament against Kenny Omega. That report was confirmed today when AEW posted a video on social media with Eddie Kingston telling Fenix he was hurt and needed to forfeit his second-round match to his brother Pentagon.
#EddieKingston & #LuchaBros announced that Fenix has vacated his win over his brother @PENTAELZEROM due to injury.
