Edge Reportedly Has Talks With AEW Before WWE Return

Edge had serious talks with AEW.

Sunday night we saw that big return of Edge to the WWE in the Royal Rumble. Edge entered the Royal Rumble at 21st and made it to the final three. Now we have learned that WWE was not the only option on the table for the Rated R Superstar.

According to WrestleZone, they report that Edge had talks with All Elite Wrestling before going back to WWE. sources close to the situation state that Edge started talks with both AEW and WWE back in August. Edge had made a comment on his podcast back then that he could get cleared and wrestle another match.

AEW pitched Edge, not just wrestling a handful of matches but also being an agent and or a producer. It is similar to the same deal Dustin Rhodes has with the company. As we saw last night Edge ultimately chose to return to WWE.

As we learned last night per WrestleVotes on Twitter, Edge signed a three-year contract for a significant amount of money. Now we all just have to wait and see what WWE actually does with Edge as we move forward on the road to WrestleMania.
