It looks like Smackdown is on as planned.

Late Wednesday night it was reported that WWE was planning on moving Friday’s Smackdown from Detroit to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. According to WWE, that is not the case.

WWE released a statement late Wednesday to ESPN stating that Smackdown in Detroit has not been canceled but they have a backup plan in place if they are forced to move.

“WWE has not canceled Friday Night SmackDown in Detroit, however, based on the current situation, we are putting contingency plans in place in the event that upcoming WWE shows are canceled by government officials, civil authorities and/or local venues.”

With WWE releasing this statement that means that at this time the plan is not to move the show. Now WWE does state they have a contingency plan in place if they do need to adjust for any upcoming show.

As far as the status for WrestleMania, WWE has publically stayed quiet on that and all indicators are that they will wait till after Thursday’s reported meeting by Orlando officials on if they will ban large scale events or not.
