Recently it was reported that discussion had begun as far as how to bring Drew McIntyre back to television and implement him into storylines. At the time and timeframe for a return was not known and then last night at the end of RAW we saw him return attacking Sami Zayn in the middle of the ring. We now have a little bit of information on his return to TV.

According to a report from Fightful, they state that Drew McIntyre was brought back last night due to the injury suffered by Bronson Reed. They note how McIntyre’s return was being discussed last week, but due to Reed’s injury was accelerated.

Drew McIntyre had not been seen on WWE television since his Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood against CM Punk. Both he and Punk were kept off television for a few weeks to sell the beat they took in the cell. Plus after having to get 16 staples in the top of his head McIntyre needed to heal and get cleared from that. It seems as if he has.
