Could A Top Team Be Split In The Draft?

October 9, 2020 0 By Tim Jarrell

WWE could do something big tonight with the draft.

Tonight kicks off the first night of the 2020 WWE Draft on Friday Night Smackdown. When it comes to teams in the draft they will normally be drafted all together by one brand. Yet if a brand only wants one member of a team that is allowed as well. It looks like that could happen tonight.

Three weeks ago WrestleVotes on Twitter send out a tweet with an interesting scenario for a top team in the draft. The idea was to split up The New Day. Kofi King would go to RAW and Big E would stay on Smackdown. Xavier Woods would then appear on both shows managing both men. Aft the tweet was sent out nothing came of it as many felt it was just an idea shot down.

Now it looks like this possibility of New Day being split up in the draft could happen. WrestleVotes responded to the original Tweet they put out with a Vince McMahon gulp GIF indicating that this could actually happen in some form.

If The New Day is to split up that would mark a hell of a seven-year run of the team that was just randomly put together back in 2014. The New Day is listed in the night one pool, so if something happens we will know about it tonight on Smackdown.
