WATCH: Chris Jericho Says Egos Need To Be Put Aside So AEW & New Japan Can Work Together
January 5, 2020Chris Jericho thinks AEW and New Japan working together will do big business.
After his victory at Wrestle Kingdom over Hiroshi Tanahashi, Chris Jericho went to the back for his post-match press conference and talked about a number of things. He talked about he may have been hurt in the match and also talked about AEW and New Japan working together someday. Jericho stated that it was time to put egos and hurt feelings aside as that a partnership would do big money for both.
“Put aside all the hurt feelings. Put aside all the egos. Put aside all of the issues and politics and concentrate on great wrestling matches and big business. I haven’t been doing this at the highest of levels for twenty-nine years, as what people say as the greatest of all time because I’m a stupid businessman. I can see the amount of money that we can make together, with AEW and New Japan. Both here in Japan and in the United States and Canada and England and Australia and all around the world. So even though I beat Tanahashi tonight, I would be more than will to wrestle him again, any time — and I would be more than willing to give him an AEW title shot — and Okada and Naito and Suzuki and Ibushi and Ospreay.”

Jericho would also state that going into this match the “forbidden door” may have been open but for now it has been closed again referring to potential talks between both All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
