Chris Jericho Provides Injury Update On Santana Following Blood & Guts

Santana to miss the rest of 2022.

Back a few weeks ago we saw AEW put on Blood & Guts where the Jericho Appreciation Society took on the Blackpool Combat Club, Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz. During the match, we saw Santana have to be helped out of the cage and to the back and it looked as if he had suffered an injury. Tony Khan has since confirmed it was a knee injury and now we know how long Santana may be out of action for.

While speaking on the True Gordie Podcast, Chris Jericho revealed that Santana is expected to be out of action for eight months.

“He fucked up his knee from doing a simple Rock Bottom. That’s not on top of a cage, that’s not falling off a cage, that’s not getting hit with a barbed wire bat, or whatever. It’s doing a wrestling move, and he’s out eight months.”

Other than Jericho here saying that Santana will be out for eight months, we do not know what type of knee injury it is. We also do not know if he will be out that long because he will need to have surgery or not. Hopefully, he can return sooner but if he is out for the full eight months, that would keep him out of action till next spring around March 2023.

If ew do hear anything further on Santana and his knee injury, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
