Change Made To Title Match Next Week On Dynamite, Four-Way Announced
December 27, 2019The alien must wait a week for her title match.
Last week on AEW Dynamite we saw Kris Statlander defeat Britt Baker to become the number one contender to the AEW Women’s World Championship. It was then announced that Statlander would challenge Riho for the title next week on Dynamite, but not that has been changed.
Today, AEW announced that Kris Statlander has a prior commitment and will not be in Jacksonville on January 1st. In the singles match not taking place, AEW has announced that Riho will still defend her title but now in a triple threat match against Nyla Rose, Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida.
Due to prior commitments, Kris Statlander will not be in Jacksonville to face Riho for the #AEW Womenβs World Championship on Wed, Jan 1st.

It was then announced that Statlander will still get her title shot, it will just be the following week on January 8th.
However, we are excited to announce that Kris Statlander will face the winner at the #AEW Anniversary edition of Dynamite Wednesday, Jan 8th in Southaven, MS. Tickets for both shows can be found at https://t.co/5WsWwyDkwZ

The reason Statlander is unable to work the AEW show on January 1st is that she is already booked in Southern California for Bar Wrestling. Bar Wrestling thanked AEW for accommodating and allowing Statlander to fulfill the date.
Losing @callmekrisstat wouldβve been a big blow to us not only financially with travel and replacement costs but also quality of talent loss. Thank you to Kris for keeping your bookings next week with @beyondwrestling and with us and to @AEWrestling for caring about independents. https://t.co/gEJLLL7ZjJ
