Change Coming To AEW Dark Tapings, Will Become Studio Show In Familiar Location

AEW turning AEW Dark into a studio show.

With AEW adding Rampage to their program lineup and most weeks filming it on Wednesday nights after Dynamite it became too much for AEW to tape four shows in one night. Now it is being reported that AEW will take Dark and turn in into a studio-based show from a place we have seen wrestling from a lot in the past.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Meltzer reports that AEW will no longer film AEW Dark most weeks on the road. The show will end up being filmed from a studio at Universal Studio in Orlando, Florida. if you remember TNA/IMPACT used to film and produce all of their shows from the same studios inside the theme park for many many years in the past. WCW also used these studios as well after they were “evicted” from the Disney/MGM studios in early 1997.

It was not stated when AEw will begin filming the show side the Florida-based theme park but that they already have a few weeks of Dark filmed from last week’s Rampage tapings.

As far as Wednesday nights will go most weeks, AEW will start the night filming AEW Dark Elevation, then run Dynamite live. They will finish off the night by filming that week’s pre-taped episode of Rampage for Friday. It was not stated that if night where they do not need to film Rampage if they will film Dark from the arena then or if going forward all episodes of Dark will emanate from Universal Studio in Orlando.
