Championship Stipulation Added To Tanahashi VS Jericho Wrestle Kingdom Match

Coming up on January 5th AEW World Champion will take on Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 14. Earlier in the week, Tanahashi did an interview with Tokyo Sports where he said if he beats Jericho he wants a shot at Jericho’s belt.
Isn’t he the champion over there? All Iβm saying is if I win and he comes back for a rematch then I think itβs reasonable to tell him to put the belt up. If that happened it would break down a door.
Jericho heard that comment and responded on Instagram. Not only did Jericho respond, he agreed with Tanahashi saying he would give him a shot at the title if Tanahashi can win. Jericho also stated that this is a real stipulation being put on their Wrestle Kingdom match as AEW President Tony Khan has given the permission the allow it.
“Tanahashi or should I say Baka-hashi because what you don’t know is that I read perfect Japanese and I read about what you said about the Tokyo Dome. You said if you can beat me, that you will enter the forbidden portal and request a title shot for the AEW World Championship. I thought it was a great idea and Le Champion asked the chairman of the board, the owner of AEW, Tony Khan, if it was okay to grant your request and he said yes. So, if you can beat me at the Tokyo Dome, I will give you a championship match for the AEW title. Alright Tanahashi? So Le Champion, the Pain Maker Chris Jericho is willing to give you a shot at this championship if you can beat me at the Tokyo Dome. You think you can do it? I don’t, but we’ll find out in just a few days. Sayonara.”
