The doctor said something someone didn’t like.

Britt Baker is one of the biggest female wrestlers in the five-year history of AEW. She missed a lot of time this year and at the end of last with real medical issues finally returned at Forbidden Door. Baker was thrust upon her return into a program with Mercedes Mone over the TBS Championship, yet since returning it looks like the doctor has gotten herself in a little hot water backstage.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reports that Baker was recently suspended and fined by AEW. He noted how she commented backstage about MJF and his girlfriend Alicia Atout who now works for AEW at the July 17th Dynamite. Atout hearing what Baker had said and told MJF. This seemingly led to MJF confronting Baker.

Melzter would state that this was then brought to HR where an investigation was conducted on July 24th. Ultimately Baker was suspended only for a week or two and fined by the company’s disciplinary committee. It was noted that this all stems from problems in the past that weren’t addressed and a committee was put together to settle these things quickly. It is also to be noted that it is unknown if Tony Khan was involved in any of this and everyone was attempting to keep that under wraps.

The terms of the suspension are not fully known but we know Baker was part of the AEW Comic-Con panel last week in San Diego where she had a confrontation with Mercedes Mone leading to their match being made official for All In later this month. Baker also did not appear on this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite and it is not known at this time if she was backstage in Greenville or not.

If we do hear anything further on Britt Baker being suspended by AEW, we will keep you updated.
