Big Update On Buddy Matthews Status With AEW

For some time now people have been asking about the status of two members if the House of Black, specifically Buddy Matthews and Malakai Black. Much has been said about Black’s deal where Khan said he could be around till 2027 and Black said that is not true. Yet we now have an update on Matthews’s status with the company.
Fightful first reported that the claim internally from AEW was the Matthews deal with AEW would have needed to get extended quite a while back. They state it was not known if this was a new deal or if maybe an option year was picked up by AEW. Internal talks at one time was that Matthews did have options years on his deal. Those spoken to believe that whether he was re-signed or option years were picked up, it would have been decided on a while back.
In that same regard, PWInsider reported something similar yet instead of anything about option years, they stated a new deal was signed. PWInsider reports that Buddy Matthews signed a new deal with the company this past February. Details on the new deal as far as length is not known.
Circling back to Black, PWInsider stated that he is currently signed to a deal that takes him into 2025. When in 2025 is not yet known though.
