Big Boom AJ Confirms He Was Injured During Full Gear Match
November 26, 2024The boom was brought to AJ’s foot.
Last Saturday night at AEW Full Gear we saw “Big Boom” AJ defeat QT Marshall on the Zero Hours. Reports of an injury came out yesterday stating that he broke his foot. A report from Fightful noted that AJ injured his earlier in the day before the match itself. Yet AJ says otherwise on when the injury took place.
In a video posted to social media, AJ wanted to thank the fans for all the support that he go surrounding the match and his AEW debut. He would then go on to confirm that he did break his leg during the match. He does not know exactly where in the match the injury occurred but thinks it may have been around the flying clothesline spot.
“Yes the story is out there, I did break my foot in the ring Saturday night. I think it happened somewhere right around the flying clothesline, but the adrenaline was kickin’. Everyone at the Prudential Center was bringing the boom. I had Big Justice in my corner, The Rizzler right there. Of course Ashley, Momma Justice, all our family right there so… I guess that adrenaline kicked in and I was able to finish the match.”

Now AJ did confirm that this match was not a one-and-done for him in AEW. He said he has been in contact with Tony Khan and other executives from AEW. After his six to eight week recovery, he will be getting into the ring again. He also noted that even while recovery from the foot injury he will still be doing things with AEW.
If we do hear anything further on what the next match could be for #Big Boom” AJ, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
