Backstage Update Regarding The State Of The WrestleMania Card
February 8, 2022WWE still has work to do with the Mania card.
WrestleMania comes to us in 52 days and we officially know of two matches set for the show. We have heard of a few matches that were in the works but will not pan out like Shane McMahon versus Seth Rollins. With that match not taking place, it looks like they now need another top match to fill that spot.
According to WrestleVotes on Twitter, they stated that that the now nixed Shane McMahon match was positioned as a “major attraction” match outside of the title matches. Now if the match was supposed to be with Seth Rollins then that does make sense. There was also a rumor that Shane at one point was up to face Austin Theory as well.
Source states the spot Shane McMahon was going to have on the WrestleMania card was to be positioned near the top. Therefore, WWE now needs a new “major attraction” matchup outside of the titles. This goes w/o saying, but the WM card is still in complete flux. It’s quite amazing.
