Backstage News On WWE Running A Queen Of The Ring Tournament
July 27, 2021WWE looks to be doing an all-women’s tournament.
Last week it was reported by Wrestling INC that WWE was planning on running a Queen of the Ring tournament in 2021. The initial report said, “tentative plan is for the event to be a main roster show airing on Peacock.” Yet it looks like that is not quite the case.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, Zarian reported that the current plan for the tournament is set to take place in October. The plan is not for it to air on Peacock but on the October 8th Friday Night Smackdown and the October 11th Monday Night RAW. As far as if those are the only two dates for the tournament or if the finals will take place on another date was not noted.

WWE themselves have yet to announce any plans for a Queen of the Ring tournament. With the dates being in October, one would assume that if this does happen it wouldn’t get announced till after SummerSlam at the end of August.
This would not be the first time WWE has ran an all-women’s tournament as they ran the Mae Young Classic with the NXT brand in 2017 and 2018. This would be the first all-women’s tournament for WWE’s main roster.
If we do hear anything else regarding a Queen of the Ring tournament, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
