FMW is back with a focus on explosions.

Back in 1989, Atsushi Onita founded FMW, Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling and it ran till 2002. Many Japanese wrestling fans talk about all of the crazy types of matches they had over the years. Yes, some called it “garbage wrestling” but even the people who called it that, for the most part, enjoyed FMW. It briefly came back in 2015 but only lasted till 2017, but it is coming back again.

It was announced on Wednesday night here in America that Onita is reviving FMW calling the new company FMWE with a focus on deathmatches as they did back in the day. With announcing that the company is coming back after Onita retired back in 2017 from pro wrestling it was announced that the first show will be taking place on July 4, 2021, with FMWE Independence Day.

The reason for the name change and adding the “E” to the name is because it is taken from the word “explosion”. Onita has stated that the company will “return to the origin” and provide matches fans will enjoy. This is not just for fans in Japan, but Onita will focus on video distribution on the internet worldwide.

Against FMWE will run its first show, Independence Day, on July 4th, 2021, and remember that is July 4th in Japan and will stream live around the world for 10000 yen.
