Andrade Reportedly Originally Planned For IMPACT Slammiversary & Beyond

it looks like the top of IMPACT stories was supposed to look different.

Last weekend we saw Kenny Omega defend the IMPACT World Championship against Sami Callihan only for Jay White to come out in the end. Yet it looks like that was not always the plan IMPACT had in mind.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Meltzer reports that IMPACT originally wanted Andrade El Idolo to appear at the end of Slammiversary confronting Kenny Omega. The plan would have been to have Andrade there with Konan as his manager. He would then have two other people with him and it would lead to Andrade and his two partners against Kenny Omega & The Good Brother. It was reported that this did not happen because IMPACT and Andrade could not agree to terms financially.

Omega and Andrade are set to face off for the AAA Mega Championship at AAA Triplemania XXIX next month and this could have been a way to try and build up that match.

As far as Jay White coming out at the end of the show, it was reported that Omega “didn’t know about White being there before and what they were doing until he got to Nashville.”
