𝙍𝙀𝙋𝙊𝙍𝙏: AEW Wrestler Suspended For Not Following Concussion Protocol

An AEW wrestler has been suspended and not for the first time.

All Elite Wrestling has been scrutinized in the past for their safety protocols. Most specifically was the Jon Moxley/Rey Fenix match where Moxley suffered a concussion and they just kept on with the match instead of stopping in when they realized Moxley was hurt. Yet it looks as if they are taking wrestlers in the ring getting hurt way more seriously and making that known if a wrestler doesn’t.

According to a new report from Fightful, they report that former TNT Champion Sammy Guevara has been suspended after not following concussion protocol in his February 14 Rampage match with Jeff Hardy. During the match, Hardy sustained an injury and they noted that concussion protocol was not followed. Guevara hit his finisher on Hardy, which they state shouldn’t have happened.

The report states they do not have details on the suspension as far as how long it is. Yet it does not look as if the suspension did not go into effect right away as Guevara worked a NO DQ match 10 days later on Collision against Powerhouse Hobbs. This is also not the first time AEW has suspended Guevara. He was suspended in the past for offensive comments made about Mercedes Mone before he was with AEW and reportedly for a fight backstage with Andrade.

As far as Jeff Hardy’s concussion, there is no info as far as him sustaining the injury as there is no timetable on his return.

If we hear anything further on Guevara’s suspension, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
