AEW Wrestler Injured & Pulled From The Owen Tournament

One AEW wrestler has been pulled from The Owen.

For the last few weeks, we have seen qualifying matches for the Men’s and Women’s Own Hart tournament in AEW. This week the first round of the tournament started yet one person in the Women’s tournament has been pulled due to injury.

Last night during the tapings for this Friday’s AEW Rampage, it was revealed that former AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida has been injured and can not compete in the Women’s Owen’s Hart tournament. Tony Schiavone made the announcement stating that Shida was injured in the Philly Street Fight against Serene Deeb. Yet that is actually not to be the case.

Since the Philly Street Fight Shida had gone back to Japan and actually worked four matches with the last being back on May 8th. Now there is a chance Shida could have been injured in the street fight, but if that was the case then why go to Japan and work so many matches.

As far as the tournament goes, Shida will be replaced by Kris Statlander. Statlander will now be taking on Red Velvet in the first round.

If we do hear anything else on the injury suffered by Hikaru Shida, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
