AEW Wrestler Injured On Dynamite, Could Miss Double Or Nothing
May 13, 2021Last night one top star was hurt on Dynamite.
On AEW Dynamite last night we saw PAC take on Orange Cassidy with the winner to earn a shot at Kenny Omega for the World Title. We saw that the match ended in a double count out and both men will challenge Omega for the match, but we now have more information on the finish to the match.
As reported by Fightful last night, the match itself did not end as planned. The finish was always supposed to lead to a triple threat but was supposed to go to a 20-minute draw. Ye Orange Cassidy was hurt during the match and that is why the audible was called to change the finish to the double count out.
According to Dave Meltzer on Observer Radio, Meltzer stated that Cassidy was hurt off of a bump from a powerbomb during the match. After the spot, Cassidy did not tell anyone he was hurt and he apparently wanted to try and finish the match. The match went another minute or so before referee Aubrey Edwards realized something was wrong and called for the audible.
Meltzer also stated that right after the match Orange was said to be “OK” but his status for Double or Nothing is not fully known. There is a chance Orange Cassidy could have suffered a concussion and if that is the case he would be pulled from the World Title Match at Double or Nothing.
If we hear anything else regarding Orange Cassidy’s status, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
