AEW Reportedly Interested In Multiple Former WWE Superstars

AEW wants to bring in three former WWE wrestlers.

Over the last few years, we have seen over 80 wrestlers get released by WWE. We have seen a number of those taken show up in AEW like Malakai Black, Keith Lee, and Swerve Strickland. Now it is being reported that AEW is interested in three former female WWE Superstars.

According to a new report from Fightful, they report that AEW is interested in Toni Storm, Athena (former Ember Moon), and Nixon Newell (former Tegan Nox). It was stated that there is significant interest in Toni Storm joining the company. So significant that several talent outright expect her to land with AEW sooner than later.

As far as Athena goes, it was reported that there have been at least light talks to gauge the interest between the two sides. Those with knowledge stated that there was a “feeling out” process going all the way back to when she was released by WWE. It was stated that some feel there is not a real sense of urgency to actually lock her down to the company.

When it comes to Nixon Newell, Fightful was told a few weeks back that she has actually been busy as of late trying to sort out her visa situation. It was stated that this has been an uphill battle for many free agent wrestlers right now.

Now it is not known if one of these women could debut for AEW this week, but The Bunny will be in a qualifying match for The Owen tournament and her opponent is said to be someone new to the company.
