2020 G1 Climax 30 Winner Crowned

We now know who is going to main event Wrestle Kingdom.

Tonight was the finals of the G1 Climax 30 tournament. In the final was last year’s winner Kota Ibushi and SANADA. The winner of this match would not only win the G1 Climax Tournament but guaranteed themselves a title shot in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom in January of 2021.

That match saw some great wrestling from both men as expected. There were a lot of teases of the finish with at one point possibly the closest 2.9 in a long time if not ever. After a match that went just over 35 minutes, it was Kota Ibushi winning the tournament for the second time in a row. Ambush is only the third person to win G1 back-to-back. The other to are to win back-to-back G1s were Masahiro Chono and Hiroyoshi Tenzan.

With this win, Kota Ibushi will now move on to challenge the IWGP Heavyweight Champion in the main event of WrestleKingdom. We know that next year Wrestle Kingdom will once again be a two-night event and it is unclear what night Ibushi will get his title shot.
