WWE Files Trademarks For Well Over A Dozen Former WWE & ECW Event Names

It looks like WWE sees what others are doing and is trying to stop it.

When WWE purchased by WCW and ECW they obtained the trademarks to the names of many of their events. Since then over the last almost two decades WWE let many of those trademarks expire. By letting those trademarks expire it has allowed others to trademarks the names themselves. Now it looks like WWE has taken notice and may have wanted to do something to stop that from happening more in the future.

On December 6, WWE filed trademarks for 19 former WCW and ECW events,

* Fully Loaded
* Living Dangerously
* Heat Wave
* Anarchy Rulz
* World War 3
* Chi-Town Rumble
* Sin
* Souled Out
* New Blood Rising
* Hog Wild
* Capital Combat
* Road Wild
* Greed
* Uncensored
* Spring Stampede
* Mayhem
* Beach Blast
* Massacre on 34th Street
* Hardcore Heaven

Whether WWE ever uses these names for future events and projects are to be seen. One would assume the reason WWE wanted to lock these names down was so others could not use them for their own gain.
