Multiple Injuries Occur During Last Night’s Dynamite

Both Fenix and Alex Reynolds were hurt last night.

They always say that professional wrestling is not ballet and the risk for injury is always there. Sometimes you can be hurt trying something new and wacky or you can be hurt doing something you do in every match. Last night there were scary moments for both Rey Fenix and Alex Reynolds.

First off Fenix was taking on his brother Pentagon in the Eliminator Tournament and the two were fighting on the second rope. Fenix jumped off with a twisting head scissors and Fenix hit the match in an awkward way on his head, neck, and left shoulder. Fenix was slow to recover and the match almost came to a halt. Referee Aubry Edwards check on Fenix every few seconds for the next minute or two before the match hit its flow again.

On last night’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that Fenix was said to be “sore” after the match when he got backstage. Fenix is slated to take on Kenny Omega next week in the second round of the Eliminator Tournament.

As far as Alex Reynolds is concerned, that was a much scarier moment for the Dark Order member. In the main event, Reynolds was DDTed and then took a leg drop/splash combo from Private Party and was completely knocked out. Reynolds’ body went limp and he did not move for over a minute. There was one time while he was knocked out when The Blade dragged Reynolds to the corner, lifted Reynolds are up, and tagged himself in as Reynolds laid on the match not moving.

Reynolds eventually got his baring back and tried to continue in the match before going to the outside. It was then several minutes before medical personnel and officials came to ringside to check on him.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Johnson reports that Reynolds was said to be okay by the time the match was over and didn’t seem to have any issues backstage.
