GCW The Collective Releases Statement Regarding Positive COVID-19 Tests, Encourages Fans Get Tested Themselves

The Collective had good shows but was plagued by COVID.

This past weekend GCW hosted ‘The Collective’ that consisted of a dozen wrestling shows in Indianapolis. It all seemed like a good time and they even had fans in attendance at all shows. Also, wrestlers who flew in were most used on multiple shows over the three day weekend from Friday to Sunday. Unfortunately, multiple wrestlers at the event have since tested positive for COVID-19. Dan The Dad, AC Mack, and Cabana Man Dan have all gone public with their positive tests. This has lead to concern for talent and fans who were there. We have event seen this affect Ring Of Honor who sent home anyone who worked The Collective as a precaution.

On Thursday The Collective issues the following statement on the matter encouraging all who were at the event, talent, and fans to get themselves tested for COVID-19.

Thank you to all the fans that attended #TheCollective in Indianapolis! On behalf of the 8 participating promotions, we thank you for your energy and enthusiasm at a time when we all needed this feeling of normalcy.

Not only did you attend but you followed guidelines and were respectful and mindful of the safety of not just yourselves, but also of those around you and for that we are grateful.

With that being said, over the last 24+ hours, we have learned of a handful of positive COVID tests from those who attended The Collective. We have been in contact with some of them and will continue to be and offer our support as they navigate through the coming days and weeks.

We encourage everyone who attended the events in any capacity to get a test as soon as possible and notify those they may have interacted with of their situation.

GCW, the parent company of The Collective is still planning on hosting their “The Last Resort” event in Southern California this weekend as nothing has come out as far as any changes to that event.
