Backstage Update On Xavier Woods Injury, Woods On Timetable Of Recovery

It looks like all is going well in the recovery of Xavier Woods.

Back in October while doing a tour of Australia, Xavier Woods went down with a serious achilles injury that required surgery. Originally it was reported he would be out of action till summer and we may have a slight update to that.

According to looselipsbackstage on Reddit, they report that Woods was originally supposed to get a big medical evaluation from the company in July, but that has been moved up to May. Now, this is in no way saying that WWE expects Woods to return in May. Possibly that he is recovery ahead of schedule and they expect him to be at the part in his recovery they want for the first major evaluation.

Woods recently spoke with CBS Sports and when talking about the injury he did state that he really has no clear timetable for when he can return to the ring.

There’s no real time frame on when I’ll be back, because Achilles tears are so different. It could be five months, it could be nine months. There’s a lot of wiggle room in there. So to be able to stay relevant is extremely important in this day and age because the news cycle is so incredibly fast. So if you’re not constantly doing something new, then soon it’s going to be out of sight, out of mind.

If you are missing your weekly dose of Xavier Woods on tv each week, you can hear him on his new podcast with Kofi Kingston & Big E, The New Day: Feel The Power. Plus you can always see Woods on his UpUpDownDown YouTube Channel where he will continue to post content even while out of action.
